A pair of match-ups have been announced for the first Man O War Reality Fighting Series event scheduled to occur at The Arena in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley on 1 June.

Among the match-ups include MMA fighter from the Solomon Islands Alphonse Wale who returns to Australian shores to take on Jake Taylor and the other match-up Integrated Martial Arts fighter Mitchell Mallet meets Hugo Leighton from Elite Fight Gym.

Jesse Juarez successfully defended his Cage Fighting Championships Welterweight Title with a unanimous points decision over Robert Whittaker in Sydney on Saturday night. 

The win was the American's third fight in as many appearances in Australia previously defeating Justin Murray and Manuel Rodriguez. Youngster Whittaker put on a strong performance but in the end Juarez edged the decision 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46 for the unanimous win.

The Bob Sapp circus continued as he was easily dismantled by Soa Palelei in the first round. Palelei finished the fight 12 seconds into the fight.

Jeff Monson proved too much for Jim Yorke winning their heavyweight clash by a unanimous points decision. It was Monson's second win of the year after defeating Alexey Oleinik in March on a promotion in Russia. It's back to the drawing board for Yorke who returned to the ring for the first time since November 2010 after winning his previous four fights.

Shindo New Breed fighter Dan Pauling suffered his first defeat as an professional when Corey Nelson landed an overhand right to knock him out cold. The end came at 33 seconds into the first round.

Western Australian fighting David Vergers scored the biggest win of his short career when he knocked out Manuel Rodriguez with a left-hook in the first round. In a battle of two of Australia's leading flyweight fighters, Shabe Kafo caught Kian Pham with a twister submission in the second round. The end came at 1:23.

James Vainikolo defeated Jon Leven via TKO with punches in the third round in a rematch of their bout which occured last year. Vainikolo bounces back after a tough but memorable submission lost to Dan Pauling at Fightworld Cup in April.

In a catch-weight battle Robert Lisita proved top much for Ryan O'Connell defeating him by unanimous decision and in the opening fight of the night, Rami El Chaoufani from Platinum Extreme submitted Albert Patu with a rear-naked choke submission.

American David Mazany utilised his superior wrestling to win his second fight in Australia in the last month as he defeated Kimekai MMA's Vik Grujic on the King Of The Cage 2 show in Darwin on Friday night.

Mazany controlled the fight in the first round and turned it on in the second to force the tap at 1:39. Mazany was backing up after defeating Forrest Goodwin on the K-Oz Entertainment card back on April 24 in Perth.

A previous semi-main event battle between Nick Patterson and Kiel Reid was scrapped due to injuries. Both fighters were at the cage and gave and confirmed that they will look to meet each other at the next King of the Cage show.

Mark Hunt will be returning home early, after a knee injury has forced the heavyweight to withdrawl from his upcoming showdown against Stefan Struve which was scheduled to occur at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on UFC 146.

The withdrawal was confirmed by UFC officials.

It's a slight set-back for the 'Super Samoan' who after easily losing his first fight inside the UFC octagon against Sean McCorkle, has been on a tear winning his last three bouts against Chris Tuchscherer, Ben Rothwell and most recently a first round demolition over Cheick Kongo at UFC 144. Not much information has been provided on the exact injury, however Hunt did confirm on twitter that he is expected to have surgery in California in the next week, before returning back to his family in Australia.

After nearly four years of inactivity, Warriors Realm Fighting Championships will make a return with a pair of shows booked in North Queensland.

The promotion announced that they will be holding two shows in August, the first one in Mackay on August 4 with the second one following in Gladstone on August 18. Official venues for the events are to be confirmed.

Warriors Realm was one of the leading promotions in the country from 2004 to 2008 with shows predominantly held in South East Queensland. Many local and international fighters appeared on the show including UFC veterans George Sotiropoulos and Kyle Noke who fought against each other twice on Warriors Realm 4 & 5, splitting the fights. The first event back in September 2003 was headlined by Elvis Sinosic and Roberto Traven.

Fighters who have also appeared on the promotion include Ian Schaffa, Jim Yorke, Katsuya Inoue, Adrian Pang, Hector Lombard, Matt Cain, Justin Murray Anthony Perosh, James Te Huna, Michael Mortimer, Jai Bradney, Gustavo Falciroli and Daniel Lima to just name a few.

The promotion is expected to announce furthers news in the coming weeks.

Fight Corps Australia held their first MMA promotion in Cairns on 21 April 2012 with roughly 600 spectators coming through the door to watch 13 action packed fights.

According to the promotion stand-out fighters on the night were Clayton Cook, Jamahl Brodie-Chong, Austin Morse and Mark Tabone.

In the main event, long time veteran of the sport Stuart Ashby made a competitive return when he submitted Sam Summers.

While most Australian fighters start off fighting locally, Australian Mixed Martial Arts fighter Tommy Murray has taken a different route with his Mixed Martial Arts career. 

Murray started off fighting under Muaythai rules where he compiled a record of 12-2-1. Murray wanted to take his training to the next level and travelled to Thailand where he trained at the Tiger Muay Thai & MMA gym. While there, Murray made his MMA debut under amateur rules in September, 2011 where he came out victorious with a unanimous points decision win.

A chance meeting from a member of Urijah Faber's Team Alpha camp led Murray to move to Sacramento, California where he has spent the last few weeks training. Fighting at 57 kilograms, Murray finds little trouble at Team Alpha getting sparring partners around his size and he credits the team to improving his wrestling and takedowns tremendously.

Tommy Murray is currently scheduled to fight on the Rebel Fighter show on May 26 against Steve Gruber. Check Fight News Australia for results from the event.
